Overview

What is Crew Resource Management training?

Crew Resource Management (CRM) training develops the non-technical skills — communication, leadership, decision-making, situational awareness and teamwork — that determine how safely and effectively teams perform under pressure. In aviation it is a regulatory requirement; in healthcare it is increasingly recognised as central to patient safety. Human error, not technical failure, is the leading factor in safety-critical incidents, and CRM training is the discipline that addresses it directly.

LMQ has designed and delivered CRM and human factors programmes since 1993, and has been training high-performance teams since 1985. Our programmes are aligned with EASA, UK CAA Standards Document 29 and ICAO requirements, and are tailored to each operator rather than delivered from a fixed syllabus.

CRM training for aviation

We develop CRM and human factors programmes for flight crew, cabin crew, engineers and air traffic controllers, and we develop the trainers who deliver them. LMQ is the preferred supplier for United Nations WFP human factors training and has worked with operators including Airbus, Bristow and Qatar Airways, and with the UK CAA and NATS. CRM training for healthcare

LMQ helped Barts Hospital pioneer the first simulation centre in the UK and has since worked with more than 25 NHS Trusts and healthcare organisations, applying CRM and human factors principles to clinical teams, simulation faculty and patient safety.
