Command Upgrade Course
For potential and new captains to be fully prepared to develop their captaincy skills.
Course aim
To develop the non-technical components of the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to enable first officers to undertake the command role.
Methodology
The course is very interactive, flexible and perhaps unfamiliar to typical training courses. Theory at all times is supported by practical evidence, although our trainers rely on delegates' personal experience to validate the content. Considerable discussion takes place and delegates are encouraged to challenge the material being presented, which develops better understanding and commitment, as well as demonstrating leadership. It also ensures that the principles can be amended to both company and national culture, and appropriate for the experience and type of operation.
